Anne is a specialist family law practitioner, and her practice comprises mainly of private and public law applications relating to children. Anne’s practice combined both criminal and family law until 2009, when she decided to concentrate solely on family law. The years spent conducting numerous crown court trials, together with Court of Appeal experience have assisted greatly in Anne’s family practice, particularly with advocacy.
Anne has extensive experience of representing parties in child arrangements order applications, and applications to remove children from the jurisdiction. She is regularly instructed in fact finding hearings within private law proceedings. Such cases include acting for a father where there were allegations of sexual abuse made against him by his 15 year old daughter, where no findings were made. Anne also has extensive experience of dealing with vulnerable witnesses. She has acted for parents, grandparents and other family members, which often involve special guardianship applications.
Anne is also regularly instructed in complex care cases, where she has acted as a junior alone and also where she has been led. Anne has considerable experience of dealing with allegations of non-accidental injuries, such cases have involved extensive complex and disputed medical evidence, particularly where the injuries have resulted in life long disfigurement to the child. Anne also has extensive experience of dealing with allegations of extreme emotional and sexual abuse, including allegations of rape and grooming children. Anne has acted for all parties involved in such cases, including Guardians and also extended family members. She regularly represents parents, including through the Official Solicitor. Anne has also been instructed in several care cases involving foreign elements, including forced marriages and assessments of family members abroad.
