Ian Martignetti is one of the founder members of Regency Chambers and was Head of Chambers from its creation to 2015, some twenty-two years.
Ian has practised extensively in all areas of child-care work, both in the private and public law spheres, with extensive experience of cases involving catastrophic injuries to children and “shaken baby syndrome”, factitious illness syndrome, sexual abuse and mental health issues.
He has experience of International Child Abduction and Hague Convention applications as well as experience of all aspects of local authority liability (see notable cases), including associated freestanding applications for breaches of Human Rights under the European Convention on Human Rights. Ian also accepts instructions to appear in cases involving the Court of Protection.
