Carl frequently represents employers and employees before the employment tribunal and has achieved recognition in legal directories for his work in this area. He has a particular interest in TUPE cases. He completed a Master’s Degree in Employment Law in 2012, gaining a distinction.
He also undertakes divorce and financial provision work as well as contentious and non-contentious inheritance and probate work and property work in general.
He has also undertaken a large amount of personal injury work, including fraudulent claims work, as well as general civil litigation. Carl’s attraction is his strong background as an advocate, which dates from when he prosecuted and defended in the Crown Court. Though he no longer undertakes this work, he was instructed in murder cases, and was a panel member for Her Majesty’s Customs and Excise prosecuting large-scale drugs and tobacco smuggling cases.
Recently, Carl has started to develop a special interest in cases involving taxation and pensions.
Carl regularly delivers seminars to the legal profession in areas of law of topical interest. He is also a tutor on a Master’s Degree level course in employment law.
Carl undertakes voluntary work for the Bar Pro Bono Unit. He is a trustee of church trusts, is a member of a parochial church council and works for a charity delivering money education to the public.
